Match report With promotion already secured with victory at Springfield, the title remained in the balance as the 1's went head to head with Rayleigh Fairview.

The 1's needed to win to keep the pressure on the leaders, and received a boost as early as Wednesday evening as opponents Purleigh conceded the game, handing the 1's a 26 point maximum to put them top - for the time being.

All eyes switched to High Easter - as they hosted Rayleigh Fairview. Posting a challenging 225 for Rayleigh to chase for victory, it was game on. A steady run chase throughout kept interest for both sides right to the end. With 48 required from 7 overs and 5 wickets down, WASP wasn't sure which way to turn. However, a productive sixth wicket partnership ensured that the target continued to get closer, and late acceleration got Rayleigh over the line with 2.5 overs to spare, and deservedly secure the Division Three title.

Pipped to the post, but an excellent season nonetheless, and one in which the team can be proud of, finishing on 352 points, surpassing the previous best.

We take our place in Division Two next season alongside Rayleigh Fairview, and at the time of writing will be joined by Burnham, Eastwood, Havering, Ingatestone, Little Waltham, Rayleigh, South Weald and Terling.

Time to put the feet up and reflect on a good season for the club, as not only did the 1's secure promotion, the 2's enjoyed their first campaign in Division 7 and finished fourth, again a best ever, whilst the Sunday team were crowned league champions.

Plenty of reasons to be cheerful as the league campaign has drawn to a close. Time to cast votes for respective players of the season ahead of the Pheasantation evening on Sat 23 Sep.
