Match report The opening game for the 2nds saw stand-in skipper Goode lose the toss and asked to bat. It seemed a very good decision by the Boreham captain Collins when both Woodies openers fell with only 22 runs off two overs. Enter JP and debutante Nigel C (also a LOSCC vs WMCC player) who pushed the total on , with JP retiring. Nigel was out at 86-3 in the seventh, and with Pete and John keeping the rate going, and Jack returning, we posed a respectable 134 to beat, JP finishing on 39. A great recovery.

Boreham started well and were 41 off the first three, which started to slow as the bowlers changed. Doc Woodrow tied the batters down in tandem with Goode and with excellent run-stopping fielding, the rate slowed to be 89 off ten. A final push was expected but Collis and Preston kept it tight and the opposition fell short on 121.

Despite the shaky start, everyone stepped up to the plate - batters contributed with a good run-rate, and with eddie extras we had something to bowl at. Steady bowling and great fielding showed we could perform in all departments - everyone getting in the game and making a contribution. The first Braintree game of the season, first win !
