Match report On a much drier day than last week's encounter at Boreham, we entertained Marconi a Pheasant Park. With the toss won, Fannon and Fawcett entered the fray with the mission of seeing off the new ball an setting a foundation. Fawcett was first to go, bowled playing an expansive drive. The skipper and the Puss attempted to rebuild but progress was slow against some tight bowling. Mason was leg before with the score on 52 and a clatter of wickets fell, with the team subsiding to a paltry 108 all out. Fannon made a turgid 31 whilst Glasson added a useful 24, punctuated by a few lusty blows.

The total was never going to seriously challenge the opposition and, although two early wickets fell, the writing was very much on the wall and Marconi cantered home in under 20 overs.

Next week it is an away day for the Seconds, and a much improved batting display is very much needed.
