Match report Despite Geoff's hamstring problem, he still managed to hobble to the wicket to lose his fourth toss of the tour. Arreton CC have an artifical strip, but it didn't stop their opener dispatching an array of Woodham bowlers to the boundary. In fact, he was on 48 before he scored anything other than a 4 or a 6, and finished on 85 when he tried to hit Spuju back over his head and was caught by Andy Brown on the long on boundary.

Roger Marshall had to sit out this game but low and behold, Arreton were short one and he batted for them at number 4. Unfortunately he failed to pick the only straight ball that Peggy bowled in 5 overs and left the field to rapturous applause having only scored 6!

However, in line with the improving performances all Woodham bowlers bowled well. Liam Watts, Manoj Craig, Peggy, Stuart Careless and Spuju, with the pick of the bowlers being:
Liam Watts 8 overs 2 for 22
Stuart Careless 4 overs 2 for 17
Stephen Richardson 3.5 overs 3 for 11
In line with Woodham fielding standards, Mark Beames took 2 excellent catches but then also managed to slide tackle a ball which he then back heeled over the boundary!!

Arreton finished on 147 all out in their allotted 35 overs.
Woodham batted very positively, with Andy Brown regularly getting the ball off the square, and making 25 before being bowled. Manoj had to face up to some hostile bowling from Roger Marshall, who hit Manoj on the helmet, before realizing that he had lent Manoj his own helmet!!

Mark Beames, Neil Collins, Craig Marshall, and Keith Mitchell all made runs quickly.Craig and Peggy were both out when the scores were level leaving spuju to score the winning runs in the 30th over.

Man of the match : Roger Marshall for just not being able to stay out of the game and for catching Neil Collins off a no ball!!

We really must thank Arreton for playing this Monday fixture. We appreciate it was tough to get a team out on a Monday and so we thank you for helping us finsh off our tour in style with a lovely pub meal in your local. Hopefully we can have a return game in sept 2013!
